G111R mutant when introduced in wildtype isolates leads to increase concentration of ergosta7,22-dienol, episterol, and ergosta-7-enol, introduction of wild type erg3 in the same isolate reinstate the normal sterol composition. This suggest that G111R is a gain of function mutation which regulates the activity of sterol desaturases enzyme. | 2 |
